Groundbreaking ceremony with MOHUP for the GLDP 44 villa project at Madinat Salman

Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for a new 44-unit housing project under the Government Land Development Programme (GLDP) in Madinat Salman. The event was also attended by Mr. Omar Faysal Al Temiemy, CEO of First Bahrain Real Estate Development Company, and several other officials.

 

On this occasion, Minister Al-Rumaihi affirmed that the advancement of this project under the GLDP demonstrates the success of an initiative to expedite the provision of housing services to citizens, aligning with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect him, to accelerate housing projects to provide 50,000 housing units. She also noted the attention given to the housing sector by the government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.

 

She added that this project is part of the Ministry’s plan to implement 137 housing units in Madinat Salman City in cooperation with the private sector. She emphasized that these strategic partnerships contribute to increasing the housing supply and expanding the options available to citizens benefiting from housing programs, thus supporting the achievement of the Kingdom’s housing sector objectives.

 

The Minister explained that the program represents an advanced model of public-private partnership, leveraging the expertise and development capabilities of the private sector to provide high-quality housing products that meet the needs of Bahraini families. She noted that the Ministry is continuing to expand the scope of this program across various governorates.

 

Minister Al-Rumaihi pointed out that the new project represents an extension of the successes achieved by the Government Land Development Rights Program, citing projects that have witnessed widespread public demand, including the “Suhail” project in the Al-Lawzi area, the “Al-Naseem” neighbourhood in Madinat Salman, the “Al-Wadi” project in the Al-Bahair area, and the “Danat Sanad” project.

 

Minister Al-Rumaihi also praised the efforts of First Bahrain Real Estate Development Company and its commitment to implementing the project according to the highest approved technical and engineering standards, noting the effectiveness of these partnerships in accelerating the pace of completion and providing diverse housing options.
