El Mercado Janabiya
Built on an 86,000 square foot plot, the El Mercado Janabiya neighbourhood market will offer 48,500 square feet of leasable area. In addition to the supermarket and three anchor restaurants, the centre will offer 23 retail units of sizes ranging from 151 to 1,345 square feet each. The project is due to open to the public during the second quarter of 2016.
The first thing you will notice about this facility is its outdoor garden experience, offering an alternative to the traditional indoor mall. The facility will feature a landscaped courtyard with soothing water features, surrounded by restaurants and cafes. Anchored by a major supermarket, the facility will add value to the local community, providing the full range of necessities within a beautiful space to gather with friends and family in a natural environment.
Recognising the common reluctance to enter basement parking, the facility will offer over 160 covered parking spaces at ground level for quick entry and exit. The ground level also features a street side cafe and a fast food restaurant with drive thru. The life of the centre is the platform level, accessible by multiple travellators and elevators located throughout the parking area. In addition to the restaurants, cafes and supermarket, the open air platform level will feature and a variety of shops providing a wide array of products and services.
The development is located at the corners of Avenue 27 and 79, just off the Sh. Isa Bin Salman Highway along the way to the Saudi causeway. Given its position adjacent to a cultural heritage site, the centre will be easily visible from the highway. Situated along the heavily trafficked Avenue 27, the residents of Saar and Janabiya will all have quick access to the first major retail centre in this area.
